Nailed it. Not one day goes by that horrific events take place. We only have today, we do not know what tomorrow will bring. We think of the people in Turkey, as they gather their losses amidst the chaotic earthquake aftermath.

A minute of prayer and silence for the people in Turkey and their surrounding areas.

Today is the day to take the step to better habits. One step at a time.

For someone out there, today is the day to plan their journey to raising egg-laying hens, inquiring as much about the “how-to”s as possible..

It is a beginning. Not everyone needs to run a homestead in order to live a healthy and self-sufficient lifestyle. A small yard will do it too. And if you cannot have chicks, become friends with chicken owners (you will end up trading your veggies for eggs… )

For now, I purchased a book called “The joy of keeping chickens”. It is simple, yet informative and a great start to learning more about what it means to have chicks, and nurture laying hens. You can find the book on amazon.
