Eggs and Health

Who doesn’t love chicks?

..furry chicks.

These days people change their preference about anything fairly quickly, depending on how the “wind” blows. A common expression in many cultures.

Same with our food.

What do you eat? And are you aware that our “food supply change” has been severely affected by lunatic events?

One popular food source is poultry.

Chicks that grow, can lay eggs. Hens do not need a rooster. They are amazing animals. Odd at times, with their own sense of humor.

After all, many have originated in England, Monty Python and all….If you don’t get this, you might be too young to understand….no offense…

Who doesn’t have that “odd sense of humor”? We are all odd.

Hens produce eggs. Naturally, independently. They provide us with tons of protein and healthy vitamins - which in return protect us from all kinds of diseases…

Quote: “Researchers at the University of California, Davis, have been able to produce antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in hen eggs. Antibodies harvested from eggs might be used to treat COVID-19 or as a preventative measure for people exposed to the disease.”

Who would have thought?

Long gone is the myth that too many eggs are harmful and can cause a rise in “bad cholesterol”. You see, up to seven eggs, a week are absolutely fine if you do have an issue with your cholesterol. But if you do not, up to 12 eggs a week are fine.

According to the Mayo Clinic, eating more egg white will help in reducing cholesterol. (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/expert-answers/cholesterol/faq-20058468)

Long story short, get chicks!

Love on them, give them a safe place to live, and make sure they do not get “hangry” and become emotional wrecks. Feed them to happiness, and watch them grow into beautiful hens that will produce fresh eggs directly in your backyard. Or on your new homestead, in your neighborhood community garden - wherever you can have chicks!

Ways to get chicks:

  • directly from a hatchery

  • ask a friend that has tons of chicks

  • local CO-Op places

  • local homesteads that breed and sell or gift chicks

Go for it! (Granted, you have some outdoor space, no HOA fee and want to start your journey with having your own fresh eggs)

It is a start: a step to independence!

To find yourself, think for yourself.
