Keeping it simple

“There is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth.”

Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

prepping for a raised garden bed; simple living by a worm..creating good soil..or something:)

Keeping it simple is as hard as taking it a day at a time.

It is possible. If the hours ahead of us are the focus, big projects and big goals become smaller and more attainable. Building a chicken coop, whilst figuring out a raised bed set up and planning other new beginnings…..

From city living to island living, to small city living and suburb living - goals and priorities change. Meeting different people on the way, with different priorities.

A new friend shared her goal of going on a sugar detox and it seems hard to do so in the beginning. But in reality, if sugar isn’t the focus but takes a seat in the “back of the car”, other things become more important and the whole process becomes easier. There will be days of full exhaustion as the body rids itself of its longing for a sugar high. And there will be days that are just fine. Starting this particular journey is a good beginning.

In all that, community and support are important: A step to going back to the roots. And a step to better health and an overall better lifestyle, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Our bodies are created to live -balanced-.

Starting somewhere.

Here are some products that have been useful and though supporting local is always a great choice, not everyone can afford that.

  • For gardening novices - such as “moi” - the following book was a “life-saver”, check it out if you will:

  • As we planted an apple tree and a plum tree, a “seaweed product” was highly recommended. This is the one we used and it is promising, we will remain hopeful:

no space for a garden: back deck simple planter box - converted table

Question for you:

What do you think of this Vegetable that the following video talks about?

Supposedly it can grow in any soil condition and is “dummy proof”, which is quite encouraging to hear. And they sound yummy. Check it out and maybe give it a try. It is simple to grow, and that is what we want.

If you can find some in your local stores - that is great, and if you cannot, here is a link for you:
